Firestone's PondGard EPDM is specifically designed for the professional installer. Use the PondGard EPDM membrane to waterproof the most beautiful and performing decorative ponds, reflection ponds, streams, waterfalls, fountains, swimming ponds and natural swimming pools.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Exceptional longevity

PondGard EPDM is a high quality synthetic rubber waterproofing membrane designed to withstand the test of time. Its excellent resistance to UV exposure, high temperatures, oxidation and frost allows it to retain its mechanical properties for countless years, even when exposed to the elements. Projects installed over 40 years ago are still functional and are therefore living proof of this durability.

Flexible and elastic

PondGard EPDM works well on all kinds of support. It adapts to the creativity of designers, regardless of the complexity of the pond, with optimal aesthetic results.

Robust

With a thickness of 1.0 mm, PondGard EPDM is a robust membrane with mechanical properties that are perfectly adapted to the challenges related to water storage. Its elasticity (> 300%) and flexibility (even at -45° C) allow it to adapt to the inevitable movements of the support and to the irregularities of the substrate (excellent puncture resistance) throughout its life.

Quick and easy installation

The installation and assembly of the PondGard EPDM membrane are extremely simple and allow for a perfect finish. Firestone's range of accessories and the membrane’s flexibility allow sealing even the most intricate details. No special equipment is required and the number of seams is limited thanks to the large dimensions of the panels (covering from 93 m² up to 930 m²). Even after many years of use, PondGard EPDM membranes can be reassembled in case of any adjustment or repair of the pond.

Environmentally friendly

Thanks to its chemical inertness and resistance to algae and micro-organisms, the PondGard EPDM membrane does not release chemicals into the environment. Tests carried out by the Water Research Centre (WRc) in the United Kingdom show that it is safe for aquatic fauna.
