Firestone roofing systems are mainly conceived for flat and low slope applications. However, they are just as efficient on roofs that are anything but flat.
Firestone’s RubberGard EPDM roofing system was chosen to waterproof the 1800 m² roof of the control room of the Energo-Aragvi 1 hydropower plant in Eastern Georgia. The main challenge was the particular shape of the building, housing the power plant turbine. The membrane panels were cut to size on the jobsite, to ensure a perfect fit. They were then fully adhered to the wooden roof structure using Firestone’s range of accessories.
Located at high altitude in a region with very hot summers and extremely cold winters, this project called for a roofing system that would deliver in terms of reliability and durability. The RubberGard EPDM membrane exceptional UV-resistance and life expectancy, together with its professional installation by an experienced Firestone contractor, proved to be the perfect match for this very special project.
